draft. is a husband-and-wife, veteran-owned and operated architectural design studio led by Carly and Ryan Cowley.

Design has always been a constant in Carly’s life, long before it became a career. From an early age, she was sketching floor plans and reimagining spaces, drawn to how well-designed spaces improve everyday living and function. That instinct evolved into a clear path, leading her to pursue architectural design professionally and eventually found draft.

Carly studied Architectural Technology at MiraCosta College in Oceanside, California, where she built a strong foundation in both design and drafting. Since 2018, she has worked across a range of sectors - including residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and landscape - developing an approach that balances creativity with technical precision and a deep understanding of constructability.

Ryan, a retired Green Beret with 16 years of service, brings a disciplined, strategic mindset to the business. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Lipscomb University, where he graduated at the top of his class, and is currently pursuing his MBA in Business and Entrepreneurship. Ryan has a deep passion for leadership, operations, and building strong, sustainable businesses - ensuring that every project runs efficiently from concept to completion.

Together, Carly and Ryan combine design expertise with strong business foundations - bringing a thoughtful, well-executed approach to every project.
